CLIVE
BLOOM
Published 1993 - 2000
As literary and cultural studies expand into new areas of enquiry, the aim of this three-volume sequence is to give the reader the intertextual cultural history of modern Britain, one in which literary, cultural and historical processes are intimately connected. It is a history in which literature is neither seen as mere reflection of social forces nor as separate from such forces, but rather as a participating and moulding factor in the history of perception in this country over the century.
